I was able to get very close to this Anna's Northern California Hummingbird who was hanging upside down to get the nectar from my Agapantus plant.
I love photography because it always surprises me. I like to merge portraits with photos of nature because the process always has unexpected results. I have created scenes giving Mother Nature a voice and a cause. I have created portraits that bring Shakespearean characters to life. I have been lucky enough to win several awards in the Photography and Fine Arts Exhibition at the California State Fair. I have had Editor Favorites on Your Shot the National Geographic Website. My photo "Seasons of Life" was published by National Geographic Your Shot, selected by Maggie Steber for the Nat Geo story, "Not Just a Face..." I have had many of my photos featured on Instagram by Ourfotoworld and PhotowalkGlobal.

My favorite bird, and you photographed it using such a beautiful Agapanthus plant. I really appreciate this image very much! When I almost passed away from Covid in Sept. of 2012, I used to sit out on our patio and watch these beautiful birds feed, and they very much helped me in my recovery! I just felt like sharing this here, I hope you don't mind? :-)
